‘Fairtrade is one of the best ways to directly support the sustainable development of some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities. Fairtrade is an independently monitored scheme that guarentees growers a fair price for their harvest of coffee, tea, bananas, cocoa, cotton and other commodities we can’t grow in Europe even if we wanted to. The chance to meet individual growers from these places and hear about their personal stories is not to be missed. It will leave you in no doubt about what the Christian response should be when you next go to buy your groceries.’

Mary Hegarty, Mayor of Bantry with Kojo Aduhene & Paul Ayuhene from Ghana.
