Lay Ministry is an umbrella term for very many ministries - Children's Church Leaders, Youth Workers, Liturgical Assistants, Parish Administrators (ad-Ministry!); Hospital/Parish Visitors and very many other positions of responsibility which involves training and professionalism.

However,anyone who professes to be a Christian and who works to enable the Church to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ is technically in Lay Ministry. All who profess to be Christians are all called to be witnesses to Christ wherever they are - at work or at home, preaching not by words necessarily, but by example of lifestyle; by their actions and attitudes.
